The art of procrastination

It happens at the end of every summer. They have spent all summer going to the beach or the pool, hanging out with friends, sleeping in and pretty much just enjoying freedom.

But then...they realize... Or, even more likely - their PARENTS realize...

They have not yet started their summer reading for school!!!! (insert cheesy suspense music here - DA DA DAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!)

The rush of kids and their parents into the library to search out that book that they probably should have read weeks ago has started. The frantic parent asks for a book for their kids summer reading while the kid is standing off to the side with a look of complete boredom.

The problem is that there are tons of frantic parents and bored kids looking for the exact same book. And while the library system usually carries several copies of the books that are required on Summer Reading Lists, there isn't a copy for every kid in the whole city to read at the same time.

Don't tell the frantic parents that, though. They do NOT like to hear it. Well, tough. You'll just have to wait.

And maybe next year, you won't leave it until the last minute.
