There are always a good number of Duck stories to go around, so you can usually come up with a good story time! Plus, getting all the kids to quack is pretty fun. I also found one of the cutest crafts (I LOVE paper plates!!), so a duck story time was a must.

Of course, we had FMRNS!!! The feature for this week was a comedy - Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid from 1982 with Steve Martin and Rachel Ward. This one was interesting because it pulled scenes from old movies, so you get to see some characters you probably weren't expecting! All in all a FABULOUS movie - and I do love me some Steve Martin!!!

The new Tuesday

Remember when I used to go on and on about how Tuesdays were the best day ever? This was because Tuesdays were the day I had my pre-school story time and then went to my friend A’s for FMRNS. Well, Wednesday is the new Tuesday!!

My new pre-school story time is now on Wednesday mornings, and it just so happens that Wednesday is also the best night to continue FMRNS!!! Seriously, you can’t get any better than that.

Even though I just started my job on Monday, I thought I would jump right in to doing story time this week. I found some great books about Ducks that we had available in my own library and set forward planning my first story time.

And, since Wednesday is now the new Tuesday, A and I had FMRNS!!! WHOOOT WHOOOOOT!!! We decided to watch Mel Gibson's 2006 film Apocalypto with Rudy Youngblood.

And, since it's Tuesday, it's FMRNS!!!!!!!!! Last week, we watched All the Mornings of the World (Tous les matins du monde), a foreign film from 1991 with Jean-Pierre Marielle and Gerard Depardieu.

This week, we are totally switching gears. We've decided to watch The Queens of Comedy from 2001 with Adele Givens, Laura Hayes, Mo'Nique, and Sommore. YAY!!!

Quack Quack Tuesday!

Happy story time day!!! I had a great four day weekend (I'll blog about that later!), and it was hard to come back to work this morning! But, I remembered that it was story time, and even though I forgot to plan it before my 4 day weekend, just knowing it was coming made it easier to be here today!
After thinking about what theme is most likely to have several books to choose from this morning, I decided to have a Ducky Story Time!!! Here are the books we read today:




And, of course, it's FMRNS night!!! I LOVE Tuesdays!!! I think tonights feature is going to be Oklahoma! from 1955 with Gordon MacRae and Gloria Grahame, but that's not set in stone. We have a couple other options, but haven't nailed anything down yet. I'll be sure to fill you in on what we watch!!!
