My DH and I spent a lot of time last weekend lounging around and watching movies. It was perfect. And we didn't spend any money on them!
We checked out a ton of movies from the library, where we got them for free for a week (they are $2 a day if they are late). That's right, I said FREE! For a whole WEEK!! No monthly dues, no Blockbuster or Movie Gallery. In fact, I don't remember the last time I actually RENTED a movie...hmmm..
Anyway, here are the movies we watched this weekend:
Man of the Year with Robin Williams, Christopher Walken (LOVE him!!) and Laura Linney. Oh, AND Jeff Goldblum. He's been everywhere lately (The Fly, Thank God It's Friday...)
Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer
Bourne Supremacy (in anticipation of The Bourne Ultimatum- I'm on the hold list, number 59 of 122 holds! Ok, so sometimes it takes a while to get the newest releases, but you get them for FREE!! For a WEEK!!)
And Knocked Up with Katherine Heigl and Seth Rogen
I've mentioned before how I have watched the entire series of Sex and the City and Six Feet Under by checking them out from the library. Up next is the first season of Heroes! I can't wait for that!!!
Here are some other movies that I currently have on hold: Sicko, Mr. Brooks (with Kevin Costner as the bad guy!), Shrek the Third, The Nanny Diaries, 1408 and Shaun of the Dead (this one is definitely for my DH!)
So, if you don't already, you should really check out your local library. I know I should be pushing all the books they have there (and I usually do), but the truth is that the library offers some amazing things. Go, take a look, see what you can find, and see what the library has to offer you! You might be surprised!!!

You are going to LOVE Heroes! Save the cheerleader, save the world!
Hahaha..I love checking out free movies too!! AND free CD's...awesome if you want to check out new bands or want to see if you'll like the whole CD. I've been wanting to check out Heroes too! I guess I'll head over to the library ;)
I wish my library was closer.....but blockbuster is right down the street and the library is 15 mins away. Plus the last time I was there I don't remember them having very many movies...and they were old.
I must admit I don't remember the last time I even went to a library that wasn't mine - who has time? Thx for this reminder that I need to revisit my local branch!
And btw - Sicko and Shaun of the Dead, though very disparate, rock! (or maybe zombies and the state of our nation's health care system are somehow related...hmmm...)
In Fort Wayne you can't hold DVD's or videos unless they are educational. You get them for three days but you can renew them twice...basically get the movie for 6 days...but we have new releases sitting on our shelf...I like Fort Wayne sooooo much better then Nashville:)
